Why CoupleTwoTree?
If you Google the origin of this phrase, you’ll come across conflicting stories. For me, it was a common phrase spoken by my grandfather, a first-generation Italian American of Sicilian ancestry from the south side of Chicago. He passed away in the mid-1970s, but as a child of divorce, he was my male role model who taught me many things. He showed me the importance of providing for those he loved and how food could bring the family together.
My fondest memories as a child were staying over Friday nights and waking up early Saturday morning to help him with the preparations for a Sunday afternoon feast. These meals brought the entire family together to share, a tradition I am attempting to continue with my own family.
The phrase “coupletwotree” for me is not only a measurement of count but also represents the multiple reasons of what we do and why. For my grandfather, it wasn’t just about preparing for a Sunday meal; it was about helping to keep the family together, being a role model, and providing.
“CoupleTwoTree” will be the theme of this blog. Yes, it will be about food. However, like many of us, we have a couple, two, or three interests, passions, and knowledge we learn and want to share on our journey. I hope you enjoy the site.
